photo frenzy
Phew, Sunday at last. Okay, no idea why I'm feeling good about Sunday but who cares. School this past week has been 100% boring-nothing new, teachers rushing through lessons because of the lack of time left before trials, boring speeches by Pn. Chong and so on... The few things that were different this week were probably the photoshoot we had on Friday and my oral discussion on Wednesday.
Wed- Went over to Claudia's that night. Me and the rest of the group had to practice our stupid oral for Friday. I really don't want to look down on them but sometimes....I just can't help it. I guess no matter what the Minister of Education does around here it ain't gonna change the fact that probably more than half of us Malaysians suck at speaking English (really, they SUCK!!!). Spent 2 hours there just getting everything right (not like it helped since they blew it on Friday anyway). Besides this, the continues interruptions by Claudia's dog, Sugar, didn't make things easier.
Fri- Today, our first lesson (English) was boring as we were one of the 1st groups to do our oral and so was left with nothing better to do besides watching the rest of our classmates do their (even more sucky) oral. Thankfully the photoshoot was not nearly as boring. The photographers took 3 pics-all girls, all guys and co-ed. The only downside to the photoshoot was (in my opinion) the heat from the gigantic fireball in the sky (the sun =P). Once all the teachers and the magazine people left, we stayed on to continue taking pics. At first, CW wanted to do 5 basket-toe-touches in a row, voluntary flyers?? (haha...me~). Jer, CC, Mitra and WH (I think...was it WH?) were also selected at first but on the account of base problems, we only had 4 basket-toe-touches with flyers Jer, WH (still thinking), CC and me. Bases got switched around a few times here and there to make it work and I guess all the flyers were more or less satisfied. Me? Deep down I'd prefer having CW and Kitty as my bases but I guess being the lightest person going up at the time my bases ended up being the 2 remaining comels WY and KH. They sure impressed me with their strength. Kinda sad these two might not be coming back next year (there goes anymore basket tosses for me T_T). Seeing as that stunt was going no where (on account of our bad timing), we changed to a wolfwall which I ended up flying on a thigh stand on non-other than Billy and JW (haha, not bad~). We also did liberty torches but that didn't go well either. Okay, so honestly we need more practice =P.
I guess I'm hoping for another re-do at this (I just wanna get tossed more =P). Looking forward to the farewell party this coming Saturday~ Wonder what to wear....I'll figure it out later. Ciaoz!!

The next generation
Things for me today started out a little differently. Mainly because muffin told me she didn't need transportation to school this morning. Surely there was a reason for it but whatever it is I didn't bother asking =P (better to respect a persons privacy, no?). Anyways, today was also the school's photo session. Usually the rest of my female classmates would be combing their hair and stuff on this very day every year (the reasons should be obvious though...), but none of them did it this year which is a big surprise (to me at least). Our turn was during our Geography class which we gladly missed thanks to the photo session~ (I guess my classmates just can't stand how boring the subject is when taught by Pn Periachee). BM, which was the subject after Geo was no fun either since I found out what muffin said about Pn Viani the other day was true...SHE'S MAKING PEOPLE STAND NOW!!! Practically half the class was left standing all because they didn't bring the right books (hello teacher! Your the one who made us mess up our BM timetable!!). Still, it could have been worse, I could've been the one standing =P.Another change in today's happenings was the fact that JK joined Eric, muffin and I instead of Jo (I mean, yeah she was there but she disappeared later on so...) during recess. Apparently he seems more of a cheerfreak than even CW himself now. JK is just crazy over cheer and gym class and happens to be the only other person in the squad who still wants to go!! (to gym class I mean-too bad that request of ours was clearly overruled =P).After school, an AGM meeting was held for us VLC's to decide the new leaders of the squad. As it turns out, the president of the entire squad is as expected...WH while the captains of the separate squads for competition is Jeremy for the guys (now this was a nice surprise) and none other then muffin for the girls~ A lot of other people had very surprising posts as well. Me? Haha, I'll never believe my luck. I got the one post I dreaded the most...Vice Secretary =P (I'll tell ya, it's not the ideal job for me in a long run so...if I mess up...DON'T BLAME ME!!!).Once the board was announced, the new leaders gave a rather long (and confusing) speech. In that speech, they also decided that there would be no gym class during the month of July (which is when all the fuss came from me and JK =P). Besides this, the seniors also announced their retirement officially and that's that. The squad is now in the hands of the next generation and I for one hope it doesn't fall under it's leadership.

Game over (victory accomplished)
Yup, games over. Cheer 2005 has ended and us VLC's are pretty happy with the results. Not only did one of our squads win 3rd but the defending champs, Shirtliff from SMK Sri Bintang Utara, were kicked out of the top 3 for the first time in Malaysian cheer history!! (6 years-I think). Within that time, Shirtliff was only dethroned once by Xavier and now Dynamitez who were the 1st runner-ups for the past 2 years! How cool is that?? WICKED!!! They so deserve it~
Anyhow, this year's 2nd place winner was somewhat a huge surprise to me. I dunno what anyone else thought but come on....how can they be human?? Blitzers, a newcomer last year who if I remember....finished in the top 10 and most likely would have bagged the best-newcomer award if our guys weren't around. Still, they had always been a strong squad as far as I can remember but part of their victory was probably because of their crowd. They were yelling...
"Go Blitzers! Go Blitzers! GO!GO!!GO!!!"
...like crazy!!! So much for the Xavier fans. Now I've really seen the loudest crowd up in the stands.
Of course the Blitzers weren't the only squad around who put on a good show. This year's competition was a tough one. Almost every squad seemed fully prepared and ready to rumble. Many squads did better on the 2nd day (including our girlz squad) but Shirtliff to our surprise....fell 4 times?!?! Was that really the defending champs??? (was what my mind was thinking back then). Sad to say but I guess it was kinda obvious they blew it this year.
Once all 28 squads had performed (3 couldn't make it-including Celsius =P-oh well, maybe I'll catch'em next year), the crowd went wild as Malaysian Idol, Jaclyn Victor got on the mat and showed us some real entertainment. She sang 3 songs (1 from Alicia Keys and another from Celine Dion, the last song was none other than 'Gemilang'). She even invited a few cheerleaders to tumble while she sang and Jeremy had a nice time doing it. He even got a hug!! (lucky guy =P).
After results, the cheerleaders went into picture taking mode. Many squads took pictures with our beloved guys squad and the judges too. Liam seemed a particular favourite as many girls found him cute (not me though). Jasmine was going crazy over Liam and gave him a hug along with a few other gals (I still can't believe it -_-). Many other cheerleaders got autographs while our VLC guys got their e-mails instead!! Freaky...
And after all that excitement, most of us VLC's went for dinner together to celebrate. It was pretty weird seeing that it ended up with us going to the arcade and watching to comels break a leg (considering WY's injury that might have been true =P). Oh well, guess that's it. The seniors are leaving and a whole new generation's gonna begin as of next year. New captain and everything, the end of CW and CC in VLC. Wow....how's this gonna turn out? We'll see...
